Most common questions about the resort and area!

How do you go about booking activities on the Island and what are the prices? There are a number of activities that are free but for those that need to be reserved, our people can handle all your arrangements.  We have all the partners from Deep Sea Fishing, Reef fishing, bonefishing guides to Scuba diving and Snorkeling guides. Below is a summary price list with customization available. Bonefishing rates for 1-2 people are $400.00 for a full day, and $200.00 for a half day (however, most guides will only offer full days)

Boat Rental:

  • Full day – 18′ speedboat (150 horsepower) = $400.00
  • Half day – 18′ speedboat (150 horsepower) = $250.00

Scuba Diving: $140/day pp for 2 tanks (2-3 dives)

  • Includes tanks, weights, mask/fins & transportation.
  • $25/day pp extra if they need to rent BC & regulator.
  • 4 person minimum, otherwise a $100 surcharge will apply.

Guided Snorkeling: $95.00/day pp

I was wondering if you offer any type of discounts on stays?

We have standard discounts available and include:  10% for registered pilots and 10% for Bahamian residents.  These discounts are applied at check-in and with proper identification.  Apart from that, our online reservations system calculates advance purchase discounts and discounts based on length of stay, which-ever is the greater discount.  If you are interested in booking special packages, they can be reserved through our dedicated reservations associates.

Can you provide directions from Congo Town airport?

The hotel is very close to the airport!  Please let the resort know your flight details and we’ll arrange taxi service to pick you up – shuttle is only $13.00 per couple (for up to 2 bags).  Car rentals are also available through Len-Glo Rent a car for a cost of $75.00 per day (telephone number 242-369-1702 / 1704 –  email at Lenglorentacar1702@hotmail.com).  Also try the Rahming’s car rental ($75.00 per day as well 242-369-1608).

Wanted to know if it was possible to be emailed a copy of your lunch and dinner menu?

Our Breakfast menus range from $8.00 – $12.00 with your choice of Continental or Full Hot Breakfast.  Our lunch menu ranges from $10.00 – $16.00. Dinner menu options range from $20.00 – $30.00.  Children’s menu (12 and under) ranges from approximately $8.00 – $16.00.  All meals are a la carte (pay-as-you-go). Breakfast and Lunch menu samples are supplied.

Dinner menus change daily with 3-4 main course options.  Menu items include Bahamian favorites such as crack conch, lobster, fresh fish (always on the menu), as well as chicken, beef, lamb and pasta dishes.

We also offer two options for meal plans. Continental breakfast buffet, lunch, dinner (appetizer, entree, dessert) – $55.00 per person including gratuity (valid until August 28, 2010) Hot breakfast, lunch, dinner (appetizer, entree) – $75.00 per person including gratuity

Any weather website you recommend?

What is all included in the prices?

The hotel is managed as a hotel with al a carte pricing.  This means you have the flexibility to create a vacation you want on and off property.   Additional adventures are available through complimentary kayaking, bicycling or snorkeling.

Do you offer a special honeymoon rate?

How far away are additional restaurants?

Although the Island is the largest of the Out Islands, it still has a small town atmosphere.  There is a limited selection of restaurants nearby but definitely worth checking out.  There are a few places within biking distance, and some just a short taxi ride away.

Is July a good time of the year for fishing and which type?

There is great fishing any time of the year and various species in season during select seasons.  Below is a sample chart of fish available locally.


Do you have a washer/dryer on the premises?

Yes we do have laundry services available.

Is there shampoo, hair conditioner and lotion in the rooms or should we plan on bringing our own?

The hotel is a full service hotel with typical amenities including shampoo, conditioner, iron (villas only), hair dryers, in room safes, coffee makers and fridges.  Private Villas also include Kitchenette, Microwaves, apartment fridges and two burner stovetops.

Do you have bottled water and that delicious Kalik beer?

Yes bottled water and local Kalik beer along with a selection of local Liquor and select US brands are available on property.

How much connection time is needed in Nassau?

Western Air announced recently that their afternoon departures are set for 5:00pm.  It typically takes 30 minutes to get through customs in Nassau and gates close 30 minutes before departure.  Therefore arrivals before 4:00 pm are recommended.

Does the villa have kitchen facilities suitable for cooking, and are groceries readily available?

Yes full kitchenettes are in each private villa and a local grocer is down the street. Do not expect to find full grocery stores.  Selection is limited.

Are there all-inclusive or meal plans available?

Yes as per a note above meal plans are available. Continental breakfast buffet, lunch, dinner (appetizer, entree, dessert) – $65.00 per person including gratuity – Hot breakfast, lunch, dinner (appetizer, entree) – $75.00 per person including gratuity This can always be confirmed after you’ve book a room online.

Do you offer any kind of diving certification for first time divers?

http://www.androsdiving.com/bahamas/dive-certification/ is our recommended diving instructor and do offer certificates.  They use our pool to complete the course requirements.

Are there ATMs nearby?

For intensive purposes, there are no banks and no ATMs on the island.  All food & Beverages can be charged to your room and paid with credit card upon check out.  For any outsourced guided activities/torus, most guides only accept cash, so be sure to bring enough cash with you if you wish to particitpate in any guided activities. The charge can be processed through the hotel if you wish, however, there is a 10% processing fee for any non-hotel charges.

Additional Suggestions:

One thing people can not buy on the island is sun tan lotion so ensure you have enough for your trip.  Also, water shoes would a good idea.
